Vivarium – A Place Where Life Grows
Master’s thesis project in Interior Design
at the Royal College of Art (RCA)
Vivarium – A Place Where Life Grows is a self-sustaining culinary research hub where architecture, food, and ecology are deeply intertwined. Conceived as a living ecosystem, the building integrates systems for cultivation directly into its structure—transforming walls and surfaces into spaces for growing ingredients. More than just a kitchen or a farm, Vivarium offers a spatial journey where the acts of growing, preparing, and sharing food unfold as one continuous, immersive experience. Designed to provoke reflection on our relationship with consumption and production, the project blurs the boundaries between natural processes and built environments, suggesting new possibilities for sustainable living through design.
